The
year was 1968 and a few women from Clarion State College decided that
they wanted to form a sorority. (insert founding here)
November 13th 1968 Beta Xi Omega was recognized as a local sorority
on Clarion's campus.
(article) They had contacted Phi Mu, a national sorority about colonization.
About Beta Xi Omega:
Colors: Brown and Gold
Flower: Gold Carnation
Porpose: "The puropse of this organization is to initiate a new
sorority due to the overload of girls who wanted sorority and the limited
quota of present sororities. The purpose is to promote sisterhood and
loyalty among the members; to foster scholarship, service and social
growth and devlopment; to give the sisters a fulfillment of themselves."

The sisters of Beta Xi Omega had a successful rush and brought in eight
new pledges!

For greek sing in 1969, the sisters sang Autumn Leaves and The Green
Leaves of Summer. They placed third in their first year!
In 1969 there were many candle light ceremonies including three laviliers
(one to Phi Sigma Kappa and two to Theta Xi), three pinnings, two engagements
and two weddings.

In this school year, Beta Xi Omega's very own Jean McEwen ran for Miss
Clarion State College, and the sisters participated in the AWS Fashion
